Howdy and G'day from Melbourne, Australia!!
I have been browsing your website for years now and occasionally posted in the XL250 forum. I believe my first question was "should there be oil in the electric stator/rotor area!!!??? "  lol

I often check this Gallery as I love looking at other old bikes and resto's... so here is mine.

I have almost finished it. I now have a correct clutch side cover and have added a few more NOS parts to the bike (grips/chain/petcock + more) since these shots were taken.

This 1972 XL250 Motosport was originally my fathers' bike. I believe he bought it in 1975, from my uncle so it has always been in the family. In the mid 80's she threw a chain (as they so often did!!) and tore a large chunk out of the engine case.....and of course dumped all its oil.
That was the last time she saw action for nearly 20 years and was thrown behind the shed in the sun, wind and rain.
My father finally relented and gave the bike to me... in 2003. The wheels actually turned!

The first two pictures are from the day I dragged it out from behind the shed, and the next 3 are of the Motosport now.

Hope you enjoy !

Keep the old Motosport alive !!!

Out of the Rust emerges a beautiful example of a restoration
