1974 OSSA Explorer

In the Seventies, I had MX'd and enduro'd OSSAs and when this bike was advertised in the "IWANNA" shopper's paper, it was reasonably priced, so I just had to call.

The story I got from the seller was that his brother had bought the bike new from Wayne Baker Cycle Sales in Hudson, NC; not but a few miles from the brother's residence. Twenty five years ago, I also bought and rode with Wayne, and occasionally still visit Wayne's shop, now run by his son, just to say hello to the two.

Anyway, as the story goes, the brother rode the bike for a year and then joined the Navy. He crated and stored the bike until last year when the seller's son got an interest in riding the bike, and rode it for a few months until he got the yen for a more powerful dual-sport scoot.

I sold the bike to an OSSA collector in South Dakota.
