Hi Rick

Came across your great site using Google.

I have a '78 XL 350 that I have modified for riding the logging roads of British Columbia. The engine and frame are stock as they are great just the way they are. I built a new swing arm and converted to monoshock suspension to allow the fitting of an all terrain rear tire and modified the triple tree clamp to fit a slightly smaller A/T tire up front.

The ride over even the roughest logging roads is very smooth and combined with the stump pulling torque of the stock 350 engine makes this the most fun machine I have ever ridden. I have covered hundreds of kilometers and no problems have shown up yet in any of the modifications.

I have attached two pictures that best show the modifications and I don't mind sharing info on how I did it so please feel free to use the pictures and my email address. Thanks and keep up the good work on the site.
